Role and Responsibilities

The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for identifying appropriate tag and marking requirements for all incoming and outgoing parts and materials, ensuring product meets Quality Standards. The Warehouse Attendant works with Purchasing and the production team to ensure on time and on budget, seamless manufacture of Oilfield Equipment.

  • Ensure that all material, parts or equipment received is inspected and Supplier Documentation Requirements are as per QP-14
  • Determine appropriate tag or marking requirements for all incoming or outgoing parts and ensure that material is marked properly according to QP-14.
  • Ensure that all required paperwork is forwarded to assigned location.
  • retrieve paperwork for any items that were delivered without the required paperwork.
  • Identify “Rush” shipments and process materials accordingly.
  • Safe operation of Forklift.
  • Responsible for yard organization or product
  • Perform visual yard inspection and maintenance to identify any anomalies.
  • Participate in all cycle or annual inventory counts.
  • Receive shipments by checking packing slips, counting items to purchase orders.
  • Ensures incoming Inspections are performed on all customer products and received purchases.
  • Courteous and professional communication with customers and co-workers
  • Maintain line of communication with Material Manager
  • Distributes all incoming goods to the appropriate department after they have undergone inspections, write-ups and tagging.
  • Extremely fast paced environment at times with a heavy focus on safety and details..
  • Strong computer skills with a history of material management programs is required


  • Minimum 2 or more years related experience.
  • Previous experience as a Shipper and Receiver would be an asset.
  • Forklift certification and experience working with large forklifts moving large objects an asset.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Self motivated, well organized.
  • Proven skills in accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong written, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work paid overtime and occasional Saturdays.
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of the following Alco QMS Procedures
  • Strong computer skills

Position Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Construction Engineering Technologist (C.E.T)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role would be considered an asset
  • Able to provide support in the maintenance, monitoring and standardization of the Company Drawing File Library
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works)
  • Proficient in creating and checking detailed drawings and assemblies
  • Able to create accurate bills of materials that purchasing will order from
  • Experience with working with a PDM system to manage drawing files and revisions
  • Able to schedule and manage their own time to create the drawing packages as they are required
  • Knowledge of welding and machining procedures
  • Familiarity with scripting language or working with databases is considered an asset (Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, Python etc.)
  • Familiarity with industry construction codes such as ASME B31.3, and CSA W59

Position Skills & Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow company Quality Management System
  • Assist in the documentation and maintenance of drawing files.
  • Transfer existing hand drawings to electronic format.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the areas of drawing creation and manufacturing processes
  • Work directly with trades people on the shop floor
  • Become proficient with measuring tools
  • Take instruction and direction in a professional manner
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and meet continually changing deadlines
  • Able to work within a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to successfully work independently or as part of a team
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly and effectively
  • Hours worked are eligible to help obtain EIT or CET obtain their professional designation
  • Other duties as required
